The US needs to ratify the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC), a comprehensive framework for helping governments ensure that children are protected from exploitation and abuse and that children are provided with what they need to live and thrive. The One Health approach, which is used as a framework by government officials to influence public health policy, recognizes the interconnectedness of the health of humans, animals, and ecosystems. But it doesn’t go far enough. The Just One Health approach recognizes that sincere pursuits to achieve optimal health and wellbeing for all require inclusive, evidence-based approaches that advance rights and justice for humans and animals.Read more
